Sandra, I looked at the census of Gadesden, Tennessee. It looks like district 18 (hard to read). Dated 17 Aug 1860. There is a James Boles living in the home of James McDurmit (hard to read). Wife is Chani? All are born in Tennessee. James also has two siblings listed: Tho. & Wm. James 14 yrs. old. Tho. is 12 and Wm is 9. All born in Tennessee. The McDurmitt kids are: Theo 23, Wm. 19, Jacob 18, Jno 16, Mary 14, & James 12. I think the James Boles child is the one we are looking for. Do you have any info on any McDurmit name? I do not have McDurmit in my files. If we could find more info on them, it might give us a clue. I'm looking at an abstract of the 1850 Tn census. There is a James age 5 which would be close. Family: James Bowles 36, Sally 33, John 7, James 5, Oliver 1, all b Tn. This county is abv....Sn...no idea which county that would be. there are a lot of James in Tn 1850 but most too young. That's the only one about the right age. Looks like the father was b 1814 in Tn? Can anyone look that up? If ANNE CHANDLER were daughter of JOHN CHANDLER and wife ANNE PENN, then Robert Maconchie who received payments from estate of JOHN CHANDLER could be very likely be my 6xgf. I believe that Robert Maconchie in CC MD was the father of my 5xgf Alexander McConchie. Aleaxander McConchie named in land deed his only son "ROBERT". On the marriages of J.P. I think Mary Eiline was his second wife. In the 1880 census it shows J.P. & Mary E.(Eiline), the children are Nancy age 14, and Altis age 12, then a 7 year span before William age 5, Stonewall 4 and Hattie 1. I didn't find Texas marriages on the net. Mary Ann
I think her name was Mary Eiline, she died 1913 & named James P as her husband. The record was "Mary".
