Suzie Bowles Published: Thursday, June 12, 2008, Carmi Times LOUISIANA Suzie Bowles, 54, Patterson, La., died Sunday, May 25, 2008. She was born July 22, 1953 in McLeansboro, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Trout) Sandusky. She attended McLeansboro High School, graduating in 1971. Suzie leaves behind a legacy of love. She had the amazing ability to make everyone who knew her better through her tender words and thoughtful deeds. Suzie was the first to offer a cheerful word to those feeling sad or a helping hand to those in need. She enjoyed 18 years of marriage to Bob and together they shared countless wonderful experiences on their journey through life together. Suzie was a diverse woman who enjoyed much of what life had to offer, concerts, NASCAR, backyard barbecues and quiet evenings at the house with her husband, Bob. Through it all, Suzie lived her life with joyful abandon, taking what life had to offer with a laugh and a smile. To have known Suzie was a gift, to have called her a friend was a blessing and the memories of her are treasures that will last forever. Surviving is a stepson, Phillip Bowles, and his children, Austin, Page and Zachary; three stepdaughters, Keri McKnight and her son, Bryce, Joni Bowles, and Bobbi Bowles and her children, Christen, Lacy Kae and Isacc; one brother, Jerry Sandusky, and his children, John, Richard, Ashton and Cody; and three sisters, Patty Sandusky, Marcia Boxley and Carol Sandusky. Suzie is also survived by two dear friends, Mike and Gina Miller; a sister-in-law, Janet and Mike Mileham of Norris City; and a brother-in-law, Charlie and Shannon Bowles of New Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law, Tomoko Bowles. A service with immediate family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Plainview General Baptist Church east of Norris City, with a graveside service to follow at Little Prairie Cemetery near Maunie. =====================================================================

Tom -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Leathel Sent: 11 June 2008 20:48 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BOWLES] London Company Tom, I have reason to believe that Joane Hart was his second wife and their children was his second family. George was born in 1538 and was over 40 yrs old when he married Joane. The inheritance for his second family came mostly from John Harte. I believe his first wife and family, was Dorothy Mallory with sons born before 1580: William, named after Dorothy's father. Christopher, named after one of Dorothy's brothers. And Thomas named after his father. William's son John, NOT George's son John by Joane, is the John Bowles that came to Virginia and died 1664. It was from Brancepeth in November 1569 that the Earls of Westmoreland and Northumberland launched their attack on Barnard Castle which was being held for Queen Elizabeth by Sir George Bowles. The Earls had even entered into negotiations with the Spanish Ambassador in an attempt to secure assistance from Philip II; the rebels garrisoned the port of Hartlepool. The rebellion collapsed after the earls were defeated near Durham on the 15 December 1569. You will find below that John Bowles good friend William Claibourne was born in Westmoreland and was about the same age as John. You will also find that William Claibourne, John Bowles, and Francis Wyatt came back over to Virginia in 1621 on the ship "George" (one of George Bowles ships). In 1624 Henry Southwell (Southy) and most of his family died in Elizabeth City. Leaving his wife Elizabeth and daughter Annie. In 1636 Elizabeth Southwell gave John Bowles a gift of land before she married Richard Popeley. In 1696, Henry Bowles claims to be a son of John Bowles and a brother to John Wyatt. I have not researched this part (yet). This is what I believe happen, Francis Wyatt married Annie Southwell and had son John Wyatt, John Bowles married Annie Wyatt widow of Francis Wyatt. John Bowles and Annie had son Henry Bowles. John Bowles was married before he married Annie because he had sons Edward born 1598 died 1659 in Maryland, John born 1615 died 1675 in Maryland. Other possible sons of William or his son John are: Valentine and Charles, both named sons William. Charles Bowles, who, we believe, boarded with Broadbent, was the constable who served the notice upon the husband, and when he had done so, Broadbent said to him - if it had been for you this would not have happened - alluding to the supposed intimacy between Bowles and his wife. Thereupon Bowles went away and returned with a double barreled gun, loaded with buckshot, renewed the subject, and, as Broadbent rose to his feet, shot him dead on the spot. Hinsley then said something about Bowles having done wrong, when the latter made demonstrations which induced Hinsley to run into the shop, which Bowles entered by the opposite door and presented his gun, which Hinsley seized and depressed so that when it fired the load entered his thigh instead of the breast. Hinsley had since died, and Bowles has escaped. END Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Thank you very much Leathel. I appreciate your taking the time to add the historical background. This along with the article which Dave Boles pointed out is going to take me a while to assimilate. Leathel,

Lincolnshire married Joane Harte, daughter of Sir John Harte, another former Lord Mayor of London. Their children were: (Sir) John Bolles (1581-1648) who married Katherine Conyers of Broadham George Bolles Robert Bolles Anne Bolles who married Capt. Humphrey Smith of London Judith Bolles I believe the above were as mentioned in his Will. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom LaPorte" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 2:29 AM Subject: Re: [BOWLES] London Company > Hello Leathel > > Then if "All the Companies mentioned were formed by the same ship owners > and shareholders" and "Among members of the Virginia Company in 1620 was > Sir George Bowles, the renowned Lord Mayor of London" then it is likely > that Sir George was also involved in the very early days of the East > India Company. > > Does anyone have any specific references that he was? > > Was the "Sheriff George Bools in Virginia in 1607" the same person as > the above George?
