Evalin Bowers and James Cross married abt.1840. They were both born in Va. abt. 1818. One of their sons was James W. Cross born 1847. He probably was born in Va. although some information show in Elizabethton TN. Possibly they lived there after he was born. James W. said that he and his brother(s) and Dad fought in the Civil War, they for the Confederate and he (James W) for the Union. We are looking for any information on Evalin and James. James W. lived in Northern Ky, after the war in the towns of Nicholson, Kenton Co. and Walton, Boone Co. He never returned home after the war. He worked for the railroad and later he had his own Blacksmith shop. He is buried in Walton.
