My husband descends from Leonard Bowers as well down thru Valentine, Abraham, Daniel & Bertha and I am interested in hearing from anyone with connections to Leonard Bowers. There are a number who think George is the son of Leonard; however, I don't agree at this time. I think George might be a brother to Leonard and named his son after his brother. With the naming conventions of those days, there is not a George in John Leonard and Rebecca Bowers family and at least one son and usually the first or second was named after the father's side. I think Robert Boward has more of a handle on this lineage even though the DNA's claim this can't be either, so who knows for sure, we may never know, but in all my research I don't believe George and Christina are my Leonard Bowers parents, but rather a brother as I stated earlier. Robert and the other gentleman, whose name I can't recall at the moment, have done a lot of research and backed it up with documentation as well. My husband is not excited about doing the DNA and it wouldn't work for him anyway as his mother was a Bowers and the male line would not follow thru on the one marker passed down thru the male line. Am going to have to see if any one else in the family might consider it from his uncle's side of the family.
