    1. Re: [BOWERS] Jeremiah Bowers of VA/NC/TN/KY

    3. Yes, I have a copy of the 1850 census for Jeremiah. In NC, can find no records showing parents, relations, etc. He was in NC (Nash Co.) in 1800 when he appears on a court document. There were many Bowers in Nash Co. and many in Norfolk, VA but the documentation is scarce, no wills either. He then went to TN (Sumner & Wilson Co.) and there until about 1837. He appears on the will of John Bowers of Davidson Co., TN who is either a brother or father. Jeremiah married in Sumner Co, TN in 1809, to Margaret Eason, also originally from Nash Co., NC. He is in Wilson Co. through the 1830 census. One of his adult sons went to MS (Yaloubusha Co.) about 1837, which is the line I descend from. Jeremiah moved, along with some children, to Todd Co., KY and is documented beginning with the 1840 census records. He and his wife appear to have died sometime after 1851 when he is listed in the tax list there. Some of his sons went on to Washington Co. IL. Some of the northern Bowers researchers with a brick wall might want to look at the KY Bowers.
