I am looking for more information or descendants of a Johnson Bowers who was in Hempstead and Sevier Counties AR as follows: Listed on the 1840 census, Hempstead Co., AR, Pg 169 2 male children 5-10, 1 male 30-40 1 female under 5, 1 female 20-30. Next in the 1850 census, Sevier Co. Johnson Bowers, Age 52, (b. 1798) Farmer, b. NC Lavinia, age 24, b. AR Ginsey, age 12, b. TX George, age 8, b. AR I think Lavinia may be a 2nd wife and perhaps the first wife d. in childbirth. Also found a BLM Land Patent record showing Wright J. Bowers, where two others are assingees of his, for land in Hempstead Co., AR in 1843. A Johnson Bowers was at the estate sale for Nancy Bowers in 1815, Wilson Co., TN. Nancy m. (1) Samuel Eason Jr. and (2) Maxwell Bowers c. 1797. Nancy and Max had 3 children, Wright J. Bowers probably born c. 1798, Elizabeth and Rachel. Johnson Bowers of AR may possibly be their son.
