Okay everyone, now that we're back online let's get the word out about who we're looking for. You cousins who have been here for years, the old rules still apply. NEWBIES: 1. Make your subject line the NAME OF THE PERSON you're looking for and perhaps even the place. You want to catch ALL the cousin's eyes and attention. 2. Give as much information in your message as you can about your ancestor. I may descend directly from the ancestor you're looking for, but I might descend from a brother or sister. The more data you give, the better chance you have of my (or another cousin) finding you. 3. NO LIVING PEOPLE in your message, please. Let's protect the living. Thanks. 4. Your message will be cross-posted to another family list. Notice in the To: line at the top of this message. ALL those list cousins are part of our family names. If you post a message (for example) to the Bower list and it has information pertaining to someone from England, I will automatically cross-post your message to those cousins on the Bower-non-USA. Your message will get extra exposure that way. Likewise, non-USA messages will get cross-posted. Remember in my Welcome I said that traffic might get heavy?.... well, this is time it will happen. 5. I may save some messages to post the data at our home at Bower Community. Before I do though, I'll contact you individually for permission. Any data posted there is always credited back to you by way of a contact link so our visitors can contact you directly. Again, more exposure. Other than that, have fun and cross your fingers for a contact.
