My BOWERS were from the Norfolk/Suffolk border in England - anyone out there with the same family. Washing Day. Our grandmama's and all the girls in the family certainly did have a tough washday - especially if it was wet or icy. Bless them though; they weren't as clean as we are today. I think the more efficient our machines are the more washing we seem to gather in. So it can still be a drudge trying to do everything during the evenings after a day out at work. Still I wouldn't want to go back to those days. No decent shampoo, deodorant and perfumed soap!!! Regards. Macha in NZ
