In a 50th wedding anniversary announcement of my GR-GR-GR Grandfathers it was stated they came to the USA in 1844 from Schwekes, Germany. If anybody can give me a little insight into where this place is and if its a Town, City, District or whatever ,it would be greatly appreciated.I have looked on old maps and the internet, but to no avail, maybe the name has changed since 1844?
