Don't know if there would be any connections here, but I also had Bowers living in MS. My great grandfather, Albin Bowers, his wife Mary (Glover) Bowers, daughter Nancy Barbara Bowers, & a son William Bowers. Don't know if there were other children. Believe Albin died in Pearlington MS when Nancy was about 6. Believe his death date to be Dec. 26, 1893. Not sure where he is buried. We never knew why the family ended up in MS. We believe his wife, Mary (Glover) Bowers was born somewhere in TN. We really know nothing else about Mary except that my grandmother, Nancy, always said her mother was quite religious and read her Bible everyday. We think Albin also lived in Ohio and Delaware when he was younger and possibly also Illinois where we believe his father died. There may be a Choctaw connection to either the Bowers or Glover line as my grandmother always said that one of her grandparents was Choctaw. Diana
Diana, My Bowers have gone this migration route: VA>NC>TN>MS/KY>TX/IL Jeremiah Bowers was born in VA 1768, was possibly in NC during Revolution, definitely in 1800, in TN late 1800 to around 1837, then at least one son went to MS where several generations stayed till 1960's when most migrated to TX. Parent of that son and several other sons went to Todd Co., KY. One son from KY moved to IL around 1854. Pearlington, MS is down near the Gulf whereas my group were 100 miles north of Jackson in Carroll, Grenada and Montgomery Counties. Possibly Albin could be descended from the Illinois branch. James Bowers moved to Washington Co., IL from Logan Co., KY around 1854. Albin is not listed as one of James' sons on the list I have. Perhaps he could be a grandson. Post a tree of Albin starting with the furthest back you know with all vitals you know or send to me. I don't have anything that would help yet, but will put in my puzzle group. Something may turn up as I research. Donna GrmaGoose@aol.com wrote: > Don't know if there would be any connections here, but I also had Bowers > living in MS.
