    3. Jan: I just recently found my Bauers/Bowers in Freeport, Stephenson County, IL in the 1850 census. They were difficult to find there because in the census, the name was spelled "Baner"... or just looks that way to the casual eye. Do you know who the parents are of Arthur Stephen Bowers?
