    3. Hello to all, I'm so excited over the German birth and marriage records that I can't type. There great and I found my g-g-grandparents marriage. Christian Bauer and Christina Wagner. The date presents a problem tho as it is listed as 1846 and my g-grandfather was suppose to be born in 1844. Colleen I sent you my gedcom Sunday - please do not post it until I can come to some conclusions here. Also would like to ask for some help in deciphering the name of the county and city. I found this couple married in BADE (Baden)-MOSB-OBERSC. Can anyone tell me what MOSB and OBERSC stands for. hand springs and yells here and thank you Glenn for the present of these records. Hey family its a great feeling to find something like this. Billie Jane in Yuma, AZ janemac@juno.com

    3. Ok first of all I ask my German Parents-in-law and they say that what was written is abbreviations not complete words. Second of they went to their maps to see if we could decipher the name in completion. Now you realize the Baden is a city and district? Oberschefflenz; is probably your OBERSC Mosbach; is probably your MOSB Baden; is right but not the city district of BADE and that the district of Baden as a complete name is Baden-Wurttemberg district. Does that help? Vicky "Billie J.
