He married Mary Mahaffey 1823 in Wilson Co., TN, daughter of Robert Mahaffey and ?. She was born 1808 in SC, probably Kershaw Co., and died Abt. 1893 in probably Grenada Co., MS. 2. John Bowers, born 1814, TN. Removed to Logan Co. KY with his father. 3. Boy Bowers, born Bet. 1815 - 1820. 4. Girl Bowers, born Bet. 1815 - 1820. 5. Girl Bowers, born Bet. 1820 - 1825. 6. James J. Bowers, born June 18, 1824 in TN; died February 19, 1876 in Nashville, Washington Co., IL. He married Jane Elizabeth Carpenter December 20, 1848 in Robertson Co., TN, daughter of James Carpenter and Sidney Travis. She was born January 8, 1831 in KY, and died January 7, 1909 in Locust Creek Community, Washington Co., IL. 7. Thomas F. Bowers, born 1829 in Sumner or possibly Wilson Co., TN. Moved to Logan Co., KY with his father. He married Barbara? Ann Thornsberry September 18, 1851 in Logan Co., KY14. She was born 1827 in IL.
