Such lineage originated around 1595 in Oberurbach, Wuerrtemburg, Germany. My gggrandfather, Johannes Bauer b. 1848 Oberurbach , parents Jacob Bauer and Dorothea Weller, left Germany sometime prior to 1872 - he arrived in Melbourne, Australia in December 1872 onboard the ship "Vernon" which sailed from Liverpool, England in October. I would love to find out when and where he left Germany (there is some speculation that he went to USA first in seach of gold) but I have been unable to locate any info on him between his birth in 1848 and his Australian arrival in 1872. He married and died in Australia. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Faye, Australia
