Mr. Newman served during the Spanish American war, was a lieutenant in the Missouri National Guards and captain in the Kansas National Guards. He was a captain with the United States army overseas. He is a member of the Hutchinson American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and is State Department Speaker for the Legion. History: A three acre piece of land was donated on to the village of Blairstown by John C. and Elena Gallihugh on October 1 1906 to be used as a burying ground.
