    3. Hi everyone, Once again I find myself having to do a mass mailing to my lists. I've just received and confirmed, a message that I received through one of the lists I maintain. Something is going on over at familytreemaker.com, genforum.com and genealogy.com (Genealogy Library). Admittedly, I don't quite have a full grasp of everything that's happening, but something negative is DEFINITELY in the happening and you need to be forewarned. If you have not subscribed, and are considering it ... please INVESTIGATE FIRST! There are a ton of recent complaints at <http://genforum.genealogy.com/genlibrary/>. Below is the message I received this morning and followed up on. You might want to do the same: "Familytreemaker (FTM) (Genealogy.Com) is on the run. They are not returning customers' emails and are not answering the phone. When they do answer their phone, they promise to call back and don't. FTM is still pushing their products by continuing to answer the sales line, but neglecting existing customers by NOT answering the customer service line. This is fundamental dishonesty. I believe FTM customers are within their rights to use whatever means possible to get the attention of FTM. I intend to hit them where it hurts until I receive a return phone call. This will include brokerage houses and retail sales outlets and genealogy societies and publishers. "I bought my Family Tree Maker software at Sam's. I intend to contact every company I can find in thr FTM supply line, including distributors. Also, contact every genealogical society and every genealogical publication. Just so these people can read about it themselves, I'm including the site addresses. http://genforum.genealogy.com/genlibrary/ http://genforum.genealogy.com/genforum/ "Toy giant Mattel Inc. owns Genealogy.Com along with partners, A&E Television Networks, Hearst Corp., Thomas H. Lee Partners, and Weston Presidio Capital. The genealogy Web site was set by The Learning Co.'s Broderbund unit. Call your broker. I smell another dot com business failure, don't you?" Hugh +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If you have comments to make to this message and elect to make them to everyone, please be sure to start your subject line with CHAT: so that those people electing not to read this thread can simply delete the message. I will ask that you please read what's happening before you make comments. Newbies, you especially need to be careful. The sites mentioned in this mentioned have previously been reputable. They are the makers of a major genealogy program you see in stores (FamilyTree Maker). I wish you all a marvelously magical Monday! :) Colleen

    3. Is there any additional info on FamilyTreemaker? Colleen Pustola wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Once again I find myself having to do a mass mailing to my lists.
