Mrs. WOOD was a person who combined in a wonderful degree those qualities of head and heart which fitted her to adorn the sphere in which she moved. Naturally of a diffifent and retiring disposition, she shrank from all display of herself; yet she lived long enough to prove her absolute control over the hearts of a large circle of friends who will deeply lament the loss of one so cheerful, amiable and kind. As wife mother and friend, her loss will be greatly felt and deeply lamented. About a year since she gave herself heartily and unconditionally to the Saviour, and soon after made a public profession of her faith in Christ by uniting with the Astor Street Church. Since then she has greatly endeared ehrself to the Church and community by her blameless life and consistent Christian character.
