Hi Robert, I've been looking over my notes as I'm planning to go to Houston if possible next week and wanted to research while there. In doing so, I wanted to look up a few more records for Todd and Logan Co. and a couple more 1870 for Butler Co. where it looks like possibly some of my Jeremiah's son's may have gone and maybe his widow. I had obtained a KY list on Genealogy.com during free day but noticed my 1870 census index did not include all the same people. Pulled out an 1850 census for Warren Co. for Barnabus Bowers which I obtained for some unknown reason last trip. Don't know how I didn't notice, but there were two other Bowers listed and evidently may be missing from the 1850 KY printed index. I had the entire 1850 KY index for Bowers and only Barnabus was listed. I feel they are father and sons; they were living next door to one another, or at least the census taker went from one to the other. I will note them here for you. Hope there's a clue. I don't know how these people fit in with mine if they do at all. 1850 Warren Co. KY, Pg 48 Line 3: Barnabus Bowers, 44, male, Farmer, $600 value real estate, b. KY Sarah, 39, female, b. KY John W., 13, male, b. KY Lydia A., 11, female, b. KY Line 7: William J. Bowers, 32, male, Shoemaker, b. KY Margaret, 26, female, b. KY Jane, 9, female, b. KY Elizabeth, 7, female John W., 5, male, b. KY Catharine, 4, female, b. KY Magaret, 2, female, b. KY Edmund, 1 mo., b. KY Elizabeth Smith, 17, female, b. KY Line 16: Wm. Bowers, 67, male, Farmer, $1000 value of real estate, b. NC Elizabeth, 59, female, b. VA A William is listed in 1820, Warren Co., pg. 35, and in 1830, pg. 96, could not find listed for 1840 but sure he's there and probably same person. I am obtaining a book of research done on James Bowers of Todd/Logan Co. area who turns out to be my ggg-grandfather's brother. I'm not sure what's in the book (she's now deceased) but am hoping she put in any notes about all Bowers she researched in the area. That would help! I will send for when I return from Houston so it'll be several weeks. If you don't hear about it from list postings, jog my memory about it. Hope some of this helps you...think I will post the census notes too but don't think there's anyone on the list working this area, or they've left the list. I definitely wish I wasn't having to work in so many states...my Bowers traveled more than I have! And, I never knew there were so many Bowers either. it's beginning to overwhelm my brain. TTYL. Donna
