    3. Dixie: This is all of what was sent to me. Includes all of the info on the Ontario Bower's that I have...lots o' names, but no relationships. It'll probably be interesting, though, to all Bowers with Ontario connections. It was interesting to me, because until today, I had been researching Margaret as a BRower! I am descended for one BOWER of Ontario family (there were others), so I might find a link, although I do not remember a Margaret. I'm hot on the trail of my 3rd great grandmother...and I'm hoping some of you can help! Her name was Margaret, and she was born abt. 1831. I'd like to know about her family...parents, sibs, and would like to make connections with living Bowers of her line, if possible. 3. Hello again, I checked my line and none of them could be your Margaret. I can, perhaps eliminate a few people for you from those mentioned below. The William Bower death has always confounded me. The only William Bower I know of in the area who died in 1848 was William J. Bower, husband of Elizabeth Schwedfeger, father of Ann Catherine Bower Huntington, Robert Samuel bower and John Conrad Bower, and stepfather to Joseph Bower (the one who ran the general store in Kemptville. I know a lot about Joseph as he was my GG grandfather). The odd thing is that William Bower's will was dated 3 November 1848 and his age would have been 61, not 70. I checked dates and none of my Bowers had a daughter named Margaret, so they are "out" as possible parents for your Margaret. Also, my lot were in Grenville -- but it being right next to Leeds, I thought there might be a link. By the looks of the family of Thomas Bower, Margaret might (big might) have been older child of this couple and not living at home at time of census. The great problem with old Ontario records is they are often incomplete or just plain missing. It took me several years to find evidence that William and Elizabeth raised my Joseph (Elizabeth's child by an 'uncertain' father!). Here is a site (maybe you know it already) that is very useful for Canadian research: http://www.islandnet.com/~jveinot/cghl/cghl.html Best of luck - Dixie Marc and Bonnie wrote: > Dixie: > > This is all of what was sent to me.
