Still trying to find any background on my John Bauer/Bower. He was born somewhere in Germany in 1833 and was in Fanshawe, London, ONT by at least 1858. I have a letter from his daughter to his son, John who moved to Minnesota, naming all the family and their birthdates but nothing about any grandparents, or aunts or uncles. While he could have been an only child, I'm very sure he had parents. Except for his son, George, I have everything about the family coming straight down to my husband. George, 1858 - 1898, kept the Bauer spelling. He died in Long Prairie, MN. He didn't marry, to my knowledge, until he was 40 years old but had been a RR man so there may be more to the story than I know there. His marriage to Amy Nevil produced one daughter, Catherine E. Bauer who married Ortwin C. H. Rosenow. They produced 4 children, only one was a son, Robert. I have talked to him personally and he has no idea of his sisters married names or whereabouts. Said there was a fall! ing out and he stayed home and took care of dad and mom til they died in 1994 and 1996. Robert never married. Lita Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the heck happened

All a and the German records are filed at the first level by Parish or Town Name. Take a look at some of our BavariaFAQs at http://bavariafaqs.homestead.com/index.html , especially sections A and B. Also look for Donnerbauer in the online German phonebook at http://www.teleauskunft.de/ . I see 63 listings there, some in Bavaria. Then write to the list again with any new questions or information. Hi family, Most of us have collected information on people we thought were (or we thought might turn out to be) related to us, only to find out they weren't. So, we stuffed the information in a binder, or in a box under the bed, or a file in or desk and the data became a hidden record. Just because these people aren't yours doesn't mean they don't belong to another cousin, though. YOUR CHALLENGE: Post a "These Aren't Mine" message telling us about the person, people, or family you found. Please be sure to tell us the dates and places of these people and if possible, list your source. One family per message, please. I wish you all a SUPER, SUNNY Saturday! :) Colleen
Cousin Barb! I should have read through the list before I sent off my message. Oh, well. Here we are. I looked through my address book & I don't see your name so I hope we have not communicated before. I would love to exchange daata. I prefer GEDCOM files but will take anything. Pleased to run across you and looking forward to hearing from you. She married Thomas Alexander CUMMINGS on 2 Jul 1857 in Delaware Co, OH? Children: Mary Ellen, Alexander Bowers (b. 29 Mar 1860 in Independence, Buchanan Co., IA), John Henry, Dorthie Elizabeth, Thomas R. Her first husband probably died near Buchanan Co., IA. Her second marriage was to Sylvanus White in 1875 in Kilbourne, Delaware Co., OH. Children: Maggie S. Likely parents of Margaret Bowers were Joseph Bowers & Dorothy Unknown who resided in Delaware Co., OH in 1850. Children: George A, William T, Margaret, Charlotte, Dorothy, Joseph, Alexander. Joseph (the father) was supposedly born in VA so it appears that my Margaret may have moved back to Fluvanna and Albemarle Co., VA due to her family roots. Does anyone else relate to this family or have Bowers family from Delaware Co., OH or Albemarle Co., VA? There are several Bowers families in both of these areas and it would be very helpful if I could figure out how they fit together. Thought I'd put out a reminder that I have some Bowers info on my web page. It does not include my entire line, but are notes I've gathered while researching in Davidson and Wilson Counties, TN. Some of these Bowers have roots in NJ and NC and possibly VA. http://www.geocities.com/dhinson2000/GenealogyPages.html
