This seems very strange to me as I have used FamilyTreemaker for several years without problem. I don't subscribe to genealogy Library as I rarely used it but my sister loves it. Must be a recent development. Donna, If you hear from anyone regarding your query, I'd appreciate being forwarded that information. This Warren Co., KY William Bowers, born about 1883 in NC, could possibly be my lost William (recall the hypothetical Andrew Bowers FGS I previously sent you), although it's a long shot to be sure. Thanks. Robert Donna Hinson wrote: > Is anyone on the list working on Bowers in Warren Co. KY? William, age > 67, b. NC in 1850 census. There are others. Is anyone on the list working on Bowers in Warren Co. KY? William, age 67, b. NC in 1850 census. There are others. Was next to Todd Co. which is one area I am researching.
I'm trying to locate Vicky Hutchings who's also working on Bowers and wonder if she's on the list. If so, please email me. Donna
I rec'd a note asking if I knew anything about Mary Bowers. The individual is working on the surname Deans (another one of mine too) but would like to know about the spouse. Right now, I don't know of a connection to my group but wonder if anyone out there might recognize any names and might help us. These families later lived in Nash Co. and then Wayne Co. area, NC Daniel Deans married Mary Bowers abt. 1762 in Hertford Co., NC. Hi everyone, Once again I find myself having to do a mass mailing to my lists. I've just received and confirmed, a message that I received through one of the lists I maintain. Something is going on over at familytreemaker.com, genforum.com and genealogy.com (Genealogy Library). Admittedly, I don't quite have a full grasp of everything that's happening, but something negative is DEFINITELY in the happening and you need to be forewarned. If you have not subscribed, and are considering it ... please INVESTIGATE FIRST! There are a ton of recent complaints at <http://genforum.genealogy.com/genlibrary/>. Below is the message I received this morning and followed up on. You might want to do the same: "Familytreemaker (FTM) (Genealogy.Com) is on the run. They are not returning customers' emails and are not answering the phone. When they do answer their phone, they promise to call back and don't. FTM is still pushing their products by continuing to answer the sales line, but neglecting existing customers by NOT answering the customer service line. This is fundamental dishonesty. I believe FTM customers are within their rights to use whatever means possible to get the attention of FTM. I intend to hit them where it hurts until I receive a return phone call. This will include brokerage houses and retail sales outlets and genealogy societies and publishers. "I bought my Family Tree Maker software at Sam's. I intend to contact every company I can find in thr FTM supply line, including distributors. Also, contact every genealogical society and every genealogical publication. Just so these people can read about it themselves, I'm including the site addresses. http://genforum.genealogy.com/genlibrary/ http://genforum.genealogy.com/genforum/ "Toy giant Mattel Inc. owns Genealogy.Com along with partners, A&E Television Networks, Hearst Corp., Thomas H. Hi cousins, I just uploaded our new spring page (as we have snow falling here...) at the Homestead. I hope you like it. I need to tell you though, that there's a problem with viewing the page in Netscape. The page stops 3/4 of the way down, just under the house graphic. There IS more below it, including instructions to click on the door to enter the house. It's 4:53 a.m. right now, I've been sick for 3 days... The page is loading fine on Internet Explorer... all of it. I just knew I needed to get this page online before March 21st... the first day of spring. It just would NOT do to have spring begin and we still have our winter page up! I'll have another look for the problem later on today or tomorrow... whichever clears my head enough first to think. :) Okay everyone, I'm headed for some much needed sleep. I hope you all have a wonderfully happy ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! :) Colleen
Hi! I really don't know...but there is an "Upper Canada" mailing list that I'm a part of. I got this particular info, though, when I sent a note to the Leeds-Grenville, Ont. mailing list. There was a very nice and helpful woman named Janis who sent the info to me in no time at all! I'd sign up for those lists at roosweb mailing lists...and hopefully you'll have as much success as I did!
