William C. Bowen (born 1829) Thomas D. Bowen (born 1832) These two brothers were both born in IL. Their mother, Mary LEWIS and her family lived in Marion County, IL from 1822 to about 1844, when they left IL and moved into MO, then on to AR. There are five BOEN households listed in Marion County on the 1830 census, ASA, JOSHUA SR., JOSHUA JR., DANIEL, and REBECCA BOEN. Daniel's household matches that of Mary and her sons, William and Thomas'. Maybe Thomas' middle name was Daniel???. By 1838, Mary began to have other children with a man named MEARS still in IL, so her BOEN/BOWEN husband was either gone or had died. Mary LEWIS-Bowen-Mears-Webb-Mears is my brick wall. I am hoping info on her first born sons (William and Thomas Bowen) might help me find more information on her. If you have info on the Daniel BOEN in Marion County, or any of the other Boens listed on the census, please let me know. Any help on my BOWEN/BOEN brick wall will be greatly appreciated!
