Agnes married John cFerrin nd had one son. John Jr. Sometime after his death, she married rchibald chanan. He was the son of James Buchanan and Martha Allison. Agnes and chibald had 8 children. They came to Tennessee from Augusta County, VA n 85 and settled on 640 acres of land near the Hermitage, home of resident drew Jackson. Agnes and Archibald built a home in Nashville called "The d Blue Brick" in 1781. Agnes died in 1803 and Archibald died in 1806. ey were buried in the Garden of The Old Blue Brick, but their son, ames, d them moved when the house was torn down. They are now buried in the chanan Family Cemetery, in Hermitage Tennessee, but their graves are not rked. Their daughter, Martha Buchanan who married Andrew Steele, are my eat Grandparents. his line continued with the Steele Family to the Wright Family to the rt Family and on down to me. have a lot on all of these families. The list also includes Castleman d Shane and a few more. If anyone needs any information on any of these milies, I will be glad to help any way I can. Most of this information me from Buchanan Researchers and also from a book on the Bowen Family. lso formation came from the Tennessee State Library and Archives and the tro Nashville Archives, and other researchers. The Buchanan's, Castleman. Steele's and Shane's were important in the ttlement of Nashville and the adjancent areas.
