When my GGF Worldly Wright Bowen, moved from Georgia to North Florida, Waldo, in the 1800s. Any similar experiences? Bob Keating

Because of the brick wall I have hit on my Bowen family around 1800, I am suspicious the name may have been something else prior. Illiteracy seems to be part of the problem. When asked to give names people often had no idea how it was spelled and the person taking the information wrote down what they heard when the person spoke their name. I don't think it was always a desire to make a change.
