Pat, I cannot find what you are looking for. I am attaching several files you may find helpful, not sure. I hope to make a trip up through upstate New York within the next year, when I get to Buffalo, I will stop in Colden County Clerk's office and see if I can find any proof one way or the other on if their William S. Bowen is the one you are looking for. If you would like, you could find someone on the net who does research in that area and see if they can figure it out. I believe that he was in Wisconsin by 1850 and maybe before. The date when he married Orra Carter and deed info on land in Wisconsin. Their children were William Carter Bowen, Farmer Bowen (my grandfather) and Estella Bowen. All were born in Wisconsin. They came west about 1870 and settled first in Oregon for a couple of years and then on to Columbia County, Washington where they all died. I have never been able to find where he was born or who his parents were.
