Is there something that can be done about the spam that has infested numerous lists? No managers listed, are there none to these lists?

I am getting lots of spam of late as well - the only messages on some lists! Ancestry.com took over Rootsweb a while back and not sure if lists managed differently or not. While I am writing a message, I am looking for the parents of Jame sBowen b. VA (probably Culpeper or Fauquier Counties, VA) about 1790.
