I'd have to invite Elizabeth Bowen and would love to know more about her. All I know is she was born about 1758 in MD and died 30 Oct 1838 in Indiana. She was married to Andrew Kirkpatrick who fought in the Rev. War, was born in Ireland 1743 and died in 1827 in Adams Co., OH. I believe he is buried in the Stevenson/Ruffner Cemetery, AKA Campground Cemetery. She might have died in Montgomery Co., IN where her daughter-in-law Polly Kincaid died. Her children were William, Absalom, John, James (my ancestor), Samuel, George and Joseph. I don't know if she had no daughters or if they just didn't appear in records. I don't know who her parents were, so would have to settle for just Elizabeth at my Thanksgiving table. I'm sure she could answer many of my questions! My Bohan family comes from Portumna, Galway Ireland and I have found the name spelled all three ways. They came to New York in the 1870s and although I have found a naturalization for one of the brothers, I have not found any of the six siblings on ship passenger records. The siblings were the children of Richard Bohan and his first wife, Sarah Ridge. In 2004, while in Galway, I received a research report done by Mary at the East Galway Heritage Center. It included the children of Richard and Sarah. It also went on the state that he remarried a Catherine Muldoon. The children of Richard and Sarah are: Michael Bowen b. 1850 d. 1926 Brooklyn, New York; married Rebecca (maiden name unknown) 1895 Mary Bohan b. 1854 - I know she came to the US, married and died in the Bronx, New York Patrick Bohen b. 1855 d. 1923 New York, New York; married Fanny Tweedle 1886 James Bohan b. 1857 d. 1934 Bronx, New York; married Maria Galbraith 1889 (This is my line.) Bridget Bohan b. 1865 - I know she came to the US, married and died in the Bronx, New York Ellen M. Bohan b. 1868 d. 1945 Bronx, New York; married Patrick Powers about 1892 If anyone knows this family please contact me. Terry

I am still searching So far I am still against a brick wall. All we know is my husband's grandfather, William Arthur Bowen, born 5/12/1880, in Gordon County, GA. Arthur had a brother, Mac (Mack) C Bowen, born 5/22/1871, Gordon County, GA. and a sister, Lillian L (Lillie) born 1883, Gordon County, GA. ON Mac's death certificate it list his mother's maiden name as Lucy Scott born Tn, father as William Bowen born Ga. By 1900 Arthur, Mac and Lillie all living in Jackson County Alabama. Have never been able to find their parents. Thanks for listening. Jean Bowen [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) In a message dated 8/27/2010 2:19:58 P.M. My earliest BOWENs were in the Chesapeake Bay region during Colonial American days. The first is William BOWEN b 1630 in Northampton Co., VA, my 8th gr-grandfather. He married 8th gr-grandmother Ann SMITH in 1653, same place. For years I was transcribing data from Daniel Bowen's 1893 book, The Family of Griffith Bowen, Gentlemen, Welsh Puritan Immigrant...Especially the Branch of Esquire Silas Bowen. I never finished it but I still intend to. Now that I'm back to the list, I have much less time to devote to research than I used to; however, I want to contribute what I can to the discussions.
