Hello Shelley Looks like you have more than went out of your way for some very lucky person that shares this surname. I do have BOWEN in my line, as my late mom was a Bowen -- but I have no Lippitt that I am able to locate - my John Bowen was born 1790 and I can pretty much follow thru from there -- sure do appreciate your good genealogy efforts though and I am sure you will have made a great break for some lucky person. Have a wonderful New Year -- Blessings -- JoAnn -----Original Message----- From: Shelley Cardiel <[email protected]> To: BOWEN <[email protected]> Sent: Sun, Jan 1, 2012 3:55 pm Subject: [BOWEN] LIPPITT - BOWEN Family Photograph I've "rescued" an old photograph of Henry F. BettyJean is a cousin. Her father, Kermit Bowen, was an uncle to my father, Lucien (Lew) Walker Bowen, Jr. Lucien, Sr., Kermit, and the many other siblings, were born in Culpeper County, VA. Her mother was Betty Harland (from England). I was privileged to be able to attend the Memorial Service yesterday, which was lovely. I had been in touch with my cousin multiple times by telephone but had not seen her since I was quite little. Her given name was as her parents gave her and was not short for Elizabeth. Here is the death notice as appeared in the Washington Post this past weekend: "BETTYJEAN SCHENK On Tuesday, April 5, 2011, BettyJean passed comfortably surrounded by family. Loving wife of Ron; mother of Kevin, Keith and Kirsten (Budd). The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7415 Buchanan St., Landover Hills, MD 20784. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in the name of BettyJean to the Ascension School Scholarship Fund." -- Kathleen Bowen Simons Falls Church, Virginia Imagine keeping it simple: Worship, Community & Service at Image Church ( http://www.imagechurch.com; listen to Pastor Chris Rhodenhizer's thought-provoking messages by clicking on the Audio link!) Very intriguing email. Would you be kind enough to provide the connections - you may be another branch of William Bowen's descendants. However, the name of Emmon is not familiar. I have been and am developing the family tree of his descendants.
