Emmitt's wife Joyce M. Thompson is the daughter of Edith Vivian Bowe who is the daughter of Thomas Henry Bowe and Thomas Henry is the son of William Robert & Trinvilla - according to the information from Emmitt. A lot of information on the Bowe family can be found in the Big Sandy New at the Library. My relationship to the Bowe Family is: William Hargis Bowe/Sarah Ann Akers>Andrew Jackson Bowe/Margaret Webb>James Apperson Bowe, Sr/Dora Layne>Anne Thornton Bowe/Theodore E. Chadwick>Charles C. Chadwick (my deceased husband)/Naomi (This line is documented in the Bible of James Apperson Bowe, Sr. and Dora Layne). There was a lenghty article "History of the Community Church" published in June, 1940, about Jim Son Bowe (James Apperson Bowe, Sr.) and his help in getting the Wheelwright Methodist Church, Wheelwright, KY built and where he was the minister for several years. There is a brass plate with the inscription "Son Bowe Chapel" over the entrance of the church. His daughter Margaret Bowe Conley played the piano and organ for the church for many years until she moved to Paintsville to be near her daughter. She was also the Bellringer! Margaret died July 11, 2005 just before her 93rd birthday on July 13th - the day of her services and burial was conducted on July 13, 20! 05.
