Prosper Bowe had lived in Lyme with his parents, Elijah and Betsy Bowe, since at least 1820, but it is unclear how long Lois lived there because the names of her parents are not known. Lois and Prosper had at least eight children, all born in Lyme: Parthenia Maria Bowe, b. 1826, married Simeon Wood; died 1854 Frances A. Bowe, b. 1828, married Warren Fry in 1848; in Sheboygan, WI in 1860 Lucinda M. Bowe, b. 1830 Lois Ann Bowe (my ancestor), b. 29 Oct 1832, married Loren Fox; died 1915 Yates co., NY Oliver Paul Bowe, b. 1834, married Frances Chase; died 1919 in Minneapolis, MN Addison A. Bowe, b. 1836 Mary E.Bowe, b. 1841, died in Sheboyban, WI in 1867 William H. Bowe, b. 1843, married Angeline Durant; died 1920 in Pennsylvania. Most of the family left Lyme in 1855 and relocated in Lyndon, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Lois died in 1859 and is buried in Waldo, Sheboygan, WI. I have most of Prosper's lineage going back to the emigrant ancestor of his line, but very little about Lois. The few facts known about her come from the 1850 census, the only one in which she appeared by name, a distant cousin in MN and a couple death records of her children which confirm her maiden name but reveal nothing else. Any clues about her parents and/or where she was born will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
