Looking for information on John Chester Bowe, who was born August 1, 1863, in Syracuse, New York. He died February 13, 1907, at St. Lawrence State Hospital for the Insane; he'd been taken there in mid January and had apparently been ill for a year. John Chester Bowe married Kate Albro in 1885. One of their children was Chester Howard Bowe, who is my husband's grandfather. I can not find John Chester Bowe's family. According to Census data, his mother was born in Massachusetts; his father in New York. John Chester Bowe seemed to wear a lot of hats. He apparently organized and was president of Syracuse Cycle Company, which manufactured Crimson Rim bicycles. Later he was a druggist.
