Author: tamdeere Surnames: Weeks, Goodland Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bowe/357.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have just started researching the Weeks' in Calumet County as I discovered that William Weeks (my husband's great-great-great-grandfather) initially settled there along with some other Weeks' that I cannot confirm how or if they are related. William moved to Winnebago County, WI and the other Weeks' remained there according to the censuses. Those that remained were named Thomas, Arthur, and John. At this point, I am guessing that Thomas was William's brother as they were in the same area and were born within 2 years of each other. I am very interested in this line of the Weeks and would be happy to share information. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: mlivingston77 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bowe/346.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I may be of some help or vice versa. Nicholas Bowe (b. 1841) was my GGGGrandfather and had many descendants. Nicholas #1 (b. 1823) also had many descendants. Nick #2, who I think is the one born 1847, didn't have many children and appeared to have married twice, once to a Frincisca and once to Mary and appears to have died after 1920. There's also a Jacob Bowe born in 1850 who could be the brother to any one of the Nicks. My biggest question is whether they're all related, either cousins or brothers. It's not a particularly common name in Germany and it would be quite a coincidence for them to settle in the same town. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There's so many different ways to post genealogy information on the web now. It's kind of a blessing and a curse since information can get scattered all over, on the other hand different venues provide different possibilities. The whole thing is currently in draft mode but here's a link: http://www.bowesonenamestudy.com. The Yahoo group will stay on its own page. It provides a discussion area for our surnames, along with many links. Think of it as a conference room and a library.
