The Bowes (and variants like Bowe) One-Name Study has an active Irish Bowe contingent (many of them took the name Bowes). We have descendants of your line involved, one who descends from Thomas and Judith Bowes Grogan, and another handful who descend from Judith and Michael's brother John, who married Mary Murphy and also went to Perry Co. Some of John's descendants then went on to Kansas. According to one of their family files, the father was Laurence Bowe, b. 1770. He had four siblings. I have more. In this file your Michael is listed among his siblings as: "Michael Bowes was born in 1814 in Ireland and died on 28 Dec 1854 in Perry County, OH at age 40." We have a spreadsheet going of up to 2000 Irish Bowe records so far. Margaret is the only sibling of Michael whose baptism shows in the parish records. Michael and his family settled in Monday Creek Township, Perry County, Ohio during the mid 1800s. Michael was married to Mary KEENAN(?) who was born sometime around 1818. According to the 1850 Federal Census, they had four children: Mary, Lawrence, Margaret and Elizabeth. Michael disappears after 1850, but his wife and several children are still listed as living in Monday Creek Township, Perry County, Ohio according to the 1860, 1870 and 1880 Federal Census.
