HI: I'm researching ANDY BOWE of CASWELL COUNTY (he may have also lived in ALAMANCE COUNTY), NORTH CAROLINA. He may have been born around 1800. He was the father of CHRISTINA (TENA) (BOWE) ENOCH, who was born in NC around 1834 and died in CLARK COUNTY, OHIO in 1923. This is all the information I have on her father, from her death certificate. I don't know who her mother was. Kberry

He was married to Ellen, possibly O'Neill. His occupation was a shovel maker. An 1860 census shows that he lived in West Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., and had been convicted of assault and battery. One of his sons was named Nicholas Bowe, also, who married Isabella Donnelly (or Donely). Her father was David Donelly. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Using a cheek swab sample of the Y-DNA we are able to compare those genetic markers among males with the surname and see which ones match. So far we have 17 members and 10 different genetic lines. Many of our lines come from Ireland and some from England. There are several surname variants included. It's another tool for your genealogy tool box if you wish to use it. See http://www.familytreedna.com/public/bowes If you join the project and match someone you can compare paper trails. If you don't match anyone initially, you will get an e-mail whenever a new participant joins who matches you. If you have any further questions you can e-mail me through the website link above. I strongly suspect that there are still descendants in the area, and perhaps they may have some details of family history that have been lost to my line. Would love to hear from anyone who may have information. I have lots to share as well. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Francis Patrick's parents, William M. and Margarette M., were both born in Ireland according to the 1930 census for Orion Township, Olmsted County, MN. Happy researching!
