    3. Hi Jim, I have tried Boden and Boaden, but with no luck I'm afraid. All the records you mention have also been tried. I will keep plugging away though. Thanks for your email. Kind regards Bernie -----Original Message----- From: Puggled Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 9:12 AM To: bowden@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Bowden] Robert Walker BOWDEN (Bernie) Hi Bernie. Definitely not one of my lines, but, have you tried the alternate spellings of the surname? Boden & Boaden have cropped up with our lot. I'm also assuming you have tried Bernie and Bernard as forenames if he was "known as" Bernie. Other diminutives for Robert include Bob, Bobby, Rob and Robbie. Other resources include FreeBMD and FreeCen which might have some trace (although they are both nowhere near complete because they are being transcribed by volunteers) Good luck with your search. There is no trace of him in the IGI or any other record including LDS records, or Birth Records for St Mary?s Parish in Scarborough, where he resided with his wife and family. He died in Scarborough Workhouse in 1890. He married Rebecca HABRON aka HEBRON, born 1823 in Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire, England, on 13th May 1845 in St Mary?s Church, Scarborough, Yorkshire. (The church near the Castle). Rebecca?s parents were Mary Dixon and William Hebron. I believe Robert to have been born illegitimate, as there is no fathers name on his marriage certificate. I have the details of the descendants after Robert if anyone else is making enquiries into the same branch of the BOWDEN family. Thank you. Kind regards to all Bernie ------------------------------ To contact the BOWDEN list administrator, send an email to BOWDEN-admin@rootsweb.com.
