My gg-grandmother was Mary Jane Bowden, 1842-1913, who after being born in Middlesex county of Ontario, lived her whole live in the Bayham Twp area of Elgin Co., Ontario, married to (and outliving) Jonathan Silverthorn. Her parents were William & Fanny BOWDEN (Wm being born in USA according to the 1851 Ontario census) and she had 3 additional siblings that I am aware of: Sarah, Elizabeth and GW (or George), born btw 1844-1850. I was stone-walled until recently with a bad inter-pretation of Mary and Jonathan's marriage certifi-cate, misreading her last name (and that of her parents) as PANTIN instead of BOWDEN. Having finally seen the actual document (actually mispelling BOWDEN as BOWDIN) I am in communication with the Ontario gene-alogy group to get this typo corrected but more importantly am assured of Wm and Fannie and their children being Mary's family, as listed in the 1851 census.
