Samuel Bowdon was the son of John Bowdon and his Sarah (last name unknow) John Bowdon was born abt 1790 Granville Co NC (you know where I am going) d. abt 1855 Monroe Co NC. In 1820 moved to Talladege, AL John married Sarah in Georgia - no dates. John Bowdon was the son of James Bowdon and Priscilla Williams James Bowdon was born abt 1759 Granville Co NC and d. abt 1845 Monroe Co GA James is on the 1790 census for Randloph Co NC but is not on the 1800 census. He is buried in the Bowdoin Cemetery in Monroe Co GA. on the 29 Oct 1785 in Granville Co NC James married Priscilla Williams who was born abt 1862 in NC and died abt 1845 in Monroe Co GA. Priscilla was the daughter of Charles Williams and Elizabeth Abernath. She was also the sister of Robert Williams who left a will dated 1822. James Bowden was the son of Travis Bowdon and wife unknown. Travis Bowdon l was born abt 1733 Granville Co NC wife unknown. 1765-68 William Bowden and wife Elizabeth sold to Travis Bowden 140 acres on both sides of Great Nutbush Creek Granville Co NC. 1773 wit will of John Robinson on Aug 1786 census Granville Co, Oxford Dist, NC 7 m 2 F on 1788 tax list - Granville Co NC 1793 wit will of john Weaver 1800 living with son William in Randolph Co NC Travis Bowdon I was the son of William Bowdon and Elizabeth "Betty" Travis William Bowdon was born abt 1713 and left a will dated 8 Jul 1773 Granville Co NC William married Elizabeth "Betty" Travis. Tana some of the early information was researched by me when I lived in NC. The rest of it was done by other people and send to me. This is the only Bowden family that I researched that I have found the name spelled Bowdoin. Bowdon, Bowden and Bowdwon. So with all of this I picked Bowdon and stuck with that.
