I am trying to find a Benjamin Bowden in North Carolina late 1700's. His son, Bryant, was my 3Xgreat grandfather. All I have been able to find is that Bryant Bowden was born in North Carolina, married Rosa Purtle in Bibb Co, AL, 1825, moved to Mississippi early 1850, then the family of 11 children with spouses and children of their own in some cases moved to south western Arkansas where they settled. Bryant was killed somewhere near Memphis,TN. Any help greatly appreciated. I have checked out many North Carolina Bowden families and cannot make a connection. Pat

Pat, I think you are one of my husband's cousins. I communicated with Marilyn a while back when I first started my research. The last I knew, she had become discouraged because she couldn't find Robert Henry Bowden's parents. Has she (or you) solved that problem? Linda, Pat, Marilyn We have talked before. Don't know if these are yours, but........ I have a Benjamin Bowden b.1775 NC (census) but do not show a son Bryant. Benjamin was married to Eliz Dunckan and Mary Brown but his background is unclear, at best. I also have Robert Henry Bowden Sr b.1877, son of Benjamin Christopher, married to Hattie Burkhimer.
