    2. Hi Joan, I am out of town but will be back shortly after Thanksgiving. I don't have many of my Bowdon names with me but do have extensive materials at home. I do know that my Thomas married Parmelia Jenkins. I have them in the census records at home. Perhaps Thomas married Nancy Wiggins first. The names that you mention for Thomas' children are intriguing because I remember the John O. and seem to remember the name Travis and Jordon. These could be coincidences who knows? BOWDON Another old citizen has passed away. Mr. Samuel F. Bowdon breathed his last at his residence in this place (Calera) on Tuesday night at 8. o'clock. He had been in feeble health for some time, but until a day or two since able to be up. He was out. in town when he was stricken with the attack, something like appoplexy, which was the immediate cause of his death. He was a native of Shelby county, and was sixty years old. He was married on July 8, 1857, to Miss Margaret F. Cunningham, of this county, who with five children, four sons and a daughter survives him. He resided all of his life in this county and was well known to this people. He was a kind husband, an indulgent father, a good neighbor and a good citizen, His remains will be laid to rest at old Salem church about two miles from Montevallo at 1 o'clock, p.m., today. Rev. C. L. Dobbs will conduct the funeral services at the grave. The Sentinel extends sympathy to the bereaved ones in their sorrow. More About SAMUEL F.
