Is your relative in any of the census records? In the U.S. there is an every name census starting in 1850. I don't know where Crossmaglen is but a census is the place to start. Is there a place to get a copy of their will? Can you get property records? Church records are great too. I once got a copy of church records for another of my families which showed them getting into trouble for missing so many church services! In the olden days of genealogy there were many more people on lists like this and someone always seemed to be able to find things so we could help each other personally rather than just hoping to find it on Ancestry.
