My Bowdens are in Georgia. Started out in Franklin Co, the part that later became Banks. Several moved to Oconee Co. One branch went to Texas and others scattered through out Georgia. The patriarch of our branch is James Griffith Bowden born March 27, 1801 in either NC or VA and died in Homer, Banks CO. Georgia in 1892.HIs children were: Lorenzo, Alford Benjamin, Alanson Griffith, George Warren, Cynthia Caroline, Samuel Leland, Reuben Nelson, William P. and James Hayne. I should mention that James Griffith Bowden's parents were Benjamin Bowden (b. abt. 1790) and Nancy Roach.
