Found in Monroe County, Georgia. From The Monroe Advertiser - Dated 2 Mar 1899 The subject of this notice, who was one of our oldest citizens, having reached the age of seventy-five or eighty years, died at the home of his son, Mr. Lee Bowdoin, near Bolingbroke (Georgia) on Wednesday morning. The death of the deceased was somewhat unexpected, he being sick but a very short time. Mr. Bowdoin spent the most of his life in this county, and was well known to the people, having filled the office of sheriff of this county during the war between the States. His remains were taken to the burial ground near Juliette for interment. Thus our oldest citizens, one by one are passing away. The Advertiser extends sympathy to those bereaved. Note: Died 1 Mar 1899
