Hi, fellow Bowden searchers, My sister, Diane Gould Hall, and I have pursued our Great-Grandfather, Robert Lee Bowden, for several years. Robert Lee Bowden was born 12 Jan 1865 in White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier, West Virginia, died 9 Oct 1906. Robert Lee married Florence Hunter, on 10 Mar 1887 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. Florence was born 7 Aug 1869 in Newport, Campbell, Kentucky and died 27 May 1946 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. They divorced on 17 Jul 1899, and we have very little information about Robert Lee Bowden other than that he worked as a brakeman on the Norfolk & Western Railroad, and may have remarried a Bertie C. Kearney on 1 Mar, 1900 in Huntington, Cablell, West Virginia. The Greenbrier County Clerk has no record of Robert Lee Bowden's birth, nor have we been able to find any further record of him, including his place of death or burial. We have the dates of his birth and death from hand written journal entries of his daughter (our Grandmother) Florence Lee Nora Bowden, whose many other journal entries have proven very accurate. Robert Lee Bowden is one of our most frustrating brick walls.
