    1. [BOWDEN] Roll Call
    2. My Bowdon/Bowden/Boudin/Bowdoin(even Bowdown) family is the southern branch. I started doing research on these folks about 15 years ago. I seem to have found the Northern U.S. Bowden families were not directly at least related to my Bowdons, some of whom spell their names Bowdon, some Bowden. I do have the will of my third great grandfather whose name is spelled two different ways in the same document. I have Thomas Bowdon born 1793 Chester County, NC. This is from a Bible record and could be 1793 or 1799 because the writing is difficult to read. I do not have the original Bible. I do have a list of their children, the first of whom was born in 1823. The family lived in a variety of places throughout the south. One of the family members settled in Limestone CO, TX. Among the places the family lived: The Carolinas, TN, AL, MS, and AR. I'd like to connect to others studying the southern Bowden families. They were people of some means as witnessed by the people they kept in slavery. Karen
