Hi Katherine, I am CCing you because even though I'm a member of this list, I keep getting bounce messages every time I send a reply to the Bowdon list. I sent to the list owner but he doesn't know what is wrong either. This is too bad because I'd like to help people and have been doing Bowdon genealogy for a long time. I do have other branches of the family too but can't send anything to the list. To answer Karen's question about all descending from Pierre the answer is no. In fact there are many who have erroneously connected John Bowden 1716/17 - 1788 of Isle of Wight Co., VA to Pierre. True Pierre had a son John who willed land to his son John but that property was later sold fee simple; the seller was a relative & not his son. Indicating his son John had died. Sorry at present I can not recall all the particulars.
