I am a descendant of Nicholas Bourden born in the mid 1700's, place of birth unknown. His family originally settled in Va. Some of his descendants eventually relocated to North Carolina in Duplin and Wayne Counties, changing the spelling of their surname from Bourden to BOWDEN. They were also the slave owners of my earliest known relative, Willis Bowden, born 1799 in Va., died in Duplin Co., NC. DNA testing results has proven that I am a directly linked to the Bourden/Bowden family of VA/NC. -----Original Message----- From: Ian Marr <ian_marr@bigpond.net.au> To: bowden <bowden@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sat, Jul 20, 2013 3:43 am Subject: [BOWDEN] ADMIN Note: New Administrator & Roll Call Hello BOWDEN List Members, My name is Ian Marr and I have just taken over as administrator for the BOWDEN Mailing List. I note that we currently have 108 members. I also note that the list has been very quiet for some time, so I thought we should liven things up a bit by inviting a "roll call". That is, let's re-post our interests and see what happens. My own BOWDEN connection will be posted shortly. Also, it might be worthwhile to visit the list FAQ. This will probably appear at first sight to be some sort of draconian attemp to impose law & order, but it is simply meant as a general guide, that if adhered to, will ensure we all get maximum results and maximum enjoyment from our list participation. You can find the FAQ at: http://home.vicnet.net.au/~marr/FAQ.html So, onward and upward, let's get into the roll-call - and don't forget, meaningful Subject lines please :-) Regards, Ian Marr, BOWDEN List Administrator ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BOWDEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
