I am not from James's line but do descend from Travis via his son William b. 1773 who married Nancy Wiggins and am trying to keep them all straight. I have been the recipient of other Bowdoin/Bowdon/Bowden research that places Colonel James Simeon Bowdon b. 6 Apr 1775 in Granville Co., NC who married Mary Bradford as the son of Travis Bowdon and wife unknown (some say Pennelopy).
