    3. Hi Tom, I have your John b. 10 Jul 1739, son of William Bowdoin and Elizabeth Travis, as the brother of my ancestor Travis, b. abt 1750. I too had John's wife's maiden name as Farrar, based on information from another researcher. I have no investment in the Farrar surname, but I'm curious about how you excluded the possibility that John was married to a different Judith Farrar from the one who married Jesse Hays. With so much repetition of names in the Bowdoin/Bowdon/Bowden family, it wouldn't be too surprising to see it in other families as well. Could it be that the error was in thinking that William Farrar was her father? Thanks for the word of caution. Hope your won't mind sharing your thoughts on this.
