    2. I believe your Brickell Brown Bowden d. Oct 27, 1886 Henry Co., TN is the son of Wm d. 1819 Franklin Co., NC & Anna (Allen) Bowden. William is the son of John of Isle of Wight. I descend from John & Peggy through their son Elias. 2. To answer Karen's question about all descending from Pierre the answer is no. In fact there are many who have erroneously connected John Bowden 1716/17 - 1788 of Isle of Wight Co., VA to Pierre. True Pierre had a son John who willed land to his son John but that property was later sold fee simple; the seller was a relative & not his son. Indicating his son John had died. Sorry at present I can not recall all the particulars. I am not sure where my branch started from but someone in the roll call could already have this info. 3. Hi, fellow Bowden searchers, My sister, Diane Gould Hall, and I have pursued our Great-Grandfather, Robert Lee Bowden, for several years. Robert Lee Bowden was born 12 Jan 1865 in White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier, West Virginia, died 9 Oct 1906. Robert Lee married Florence Hunter, on 10 Mar 1887 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. Florence was born 7 Aug 1869 in Newport, Campbell, Kentucky and died 27 May 1946 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. They divorced on 17 Jul 1899, and we have very little information about Robert Lee Bowden other than that he worked as a brakeman on the Norfolk & Western Railroad, and may have remarried a Bertie C. Kearney on 1 Mar, 1900 in Huntington, Cablell, West Virginia. The Greenbrier County Clerk has no record of Robert Lee Bowden's birth, nor have we been able to find any further record of him, including his place of death or burial. We have the dates of his birth and death from hand written journal entries of his daughter (our Grandmother) Florence Lee Nora Bowden, whose many other journal entries have proven very accurate. Robert Lee Bowden is one of our most frustrating brick walls. 1. [BOWDEN] ADMIN Note: New Administrator & Roll Call
    2. Ian Marr
    3. Hello BOWDEN List Members, My name is Ian Marr and I have just taken over as administrator for the BOWDEN Mailing List. I note that we currently have 108 members. I also note that the list has been very quiet for some time, so I thought we should liven things up a bit by inviting a "roll call". That is, let's re-post our interests and see what happens. My own BOWDEN connection will be posted shortly. Also, it might be worthwhile to visit the list FAQ. This will probably appear at first sight to be some sort of draconian attemp to impose law & order, but it is simply meant as a general guide, that if adhered to, will ensure we all get maximum results and maximum enjoyment from our list participation. You can find the FAQ at: http://home.vicnet.net.au/~marr/FAQ.html So, onward and upward, let's get into the roll-call - and don't forget, meaningful Subject lines please :-) Regards, Ian Marr, BOWDEN List Administrator
