I have gotten so frustrated that I can't find anything about Mary Bourke or her husband Thomas McShea. He was from Newport, County Mayo as well. I know that they had nine children:2 died in Ireland as children. John McShea had a daughter named Ann that moved to Chicago, but he stayed in Ireland to look after the parents, Mary McShea moved to Ohio, Rose McShea died in 1882 in Richmond, Indiana, Thomas McShea JR was born in 1816 in Ireland and died in 1890 in Richmond, IN, Bridget McShea was born in 1827 in Ireland and died in 1907 in Richmond, IN,Owen McShea was born in 1830 in Ireland and died in Indianapolis in 1918 and Hubert or Hugh McShea was born in Ireland in 1817 and died in 1892 in Indianapolis. Does anyone know of any Bourkes that were in that general area and time that Mary could have been related to?She original story my family had was that mary Bourke was an ancestor of General Bourke of Carrowkeep Castle, Parish ! of Glen Hest, Newport, Ireland. I think they have have meant to say she was a dependent of and not an ancestor of.I need any advice or who I need to write to to find out anything. Bourke, a native of Prince Edward Island. He was born around 1844 and was a blacksmith. He married my great-grand aunt, Lucy Repine, in 1875. I believe that he was a widower with a child named Claudius. This child was listed in the 1880 Census for Green Township, Indiana County Pennsylvania. The Bourkes/Burkes had three more children. Lucy died around 1886, and a legal notice suggests that Peter died some time after that. I am hoping that someone can offer some more information about Peter Bourke.
